Who We Are
Afser Shariff, M.D., Founder and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Shariff is a board certified Otolaryngologist with extensive private practice and academic experience. He has been a co-founder and builder of multiple successful health care ventures prior to Physicians Angels. He also has served and continues to serve in multiple leadership positions both in and outside the field of Medicine. Dr. Shariff was a founding board member of a non-profit think tank and helped raise over $2 million to fund research and policy creation. Dr. Shariff envisioned, designed, and assembled the Angels concept and has been intimately involved with every detail of the project since its inception. He has assembled a proven and experienced international team.
Kevin Brady, President. Kevin manages the day-to-day operations of Physicians Angels, investor and customers relations, and ensures our virtual medical scribes continue to deliver high-quality services through our unique and intensive training courses. He has over two decades of government and private sector experience, designing and implementing medium- and large-scale economic development projects through grants and contracts. Kevin has specialized the past ten years in international diplomacy, economics, and project management in Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia. His experience working in high-pressure situations in the U.S. and overseas -- along with his extensive private sector experience in media, advertising, healthcare, and education -- gives him a solid background to manage the rapid growth and expansion of Physicians Angels.
Mir Zakir Ali, Vice President of Virtual Medical Staff. Zakir brings to Physicians Angels 17 years of business experience, strong management and supervisory skills, including more than ten years managing out-sourced healthcare services. In his position as Director of Operations at BreakThrough Technologies -- a healthcare business process outsourcing -- Zakir was responsible for the development, design, operation and improvement of the service delivery systems. In addition to supervising all Physicians Angels staff, he oversees human resources, finance, administration, and strategic planning.
M. Prem Anand, Vice President of Virtual Medical Software Services. Prem has over a decades worth of experience in IT and outsourcing, specializing in U.S. healthcare. His previous work at Oracle in the Middle East, SAP in Romania, SAP in Austria, and in the Indian IT industry provides him with a deep understanding of large-scale business processes and services. He served as Director of Worldwide Sales and Customer Delivery at BreakThrough Technologies, which he founded with Zakir and grew to a 500-employee corporation with multimillion dollars in annual sales His core areas of focus at Physician Angels are to develop client-based software solutions for more effective practice management, improve client experience, and ensure continued innovation at Physicians Angels.
Mohammad Kasir, Chief Technical Officer. Mohammad has over 18 years of experience in business management, consulting, sales and marketing, and customer support in the IT industry. He has planned and implemented software and hardware solutions for medical and dental offices and is well versed in their needs. Previously, Mohammed worked as Vice President of DEBA Enterprises. Chief among his responsibilities is developing a regional network of IT specialists to provide on-site solutions to technical challenges confronting Physicians Angels clients.
Saif Khalil, Vice President of Sales & Customer Service. Khalil has been in health care for over eight years as a consultative account manager for multiple pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms. He is highly regarded by prominent physicians and opinion leaders for product, disease-state expertise, and patient education, working with many different specialties over a large geographical area. Khalil has extensive experience managing sales and customer service operations and teams.
